Ambient-light shower fixtures are just the latest step in a trend toward poshing up a room that has morphed from washroom to relaxing respite. America’s texture-focused society seems to put an increasing value in towels and tile floors while seeming to forget that lurking behind that shower curtain or door is a bar of Lever 2000 and a bottle of Pantene.
Ambient fixtures, however, are hoping to enhance a mundane shower into an experience that will truly prepare you for the day.
Kohler’s WaterTile Ambient Rain panels, introduced at the 2007 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, marries colorful chromatherapy patterns with multiple shower sprays – function with finesse.
The 21x21-inch panel includes four sprays and, ahem, rains a range of color cycles from vivid and bright to cool and soothing. No matter the mood of the homeowner, there is certain to be a color palette that enhances, complements or alleviates it, says Kohler.
So whether it’s gray outside and you wish it to brighten or the sun’s shining to bright and you wish you could remain in bed, you can count on the shower to wash away all your problems.
